Carnegie Library Electrical Enclosure

 

Concern over decades-old electrical switchgear was the impetus for this project. The solution involved constructing a parallel electrical service space where new switchgear could be gradually energized without service interruption to the facility. The architectural expression of the enclosure was an understated zinc-clad addition, which took its cues from the original historical edifice, without imitating it’s appearance.
