elagin architecture is dedicated to high design standards, innovative solutions, economy and a commitment to community.  These guiding ideals have come from public service and private sector experience.  To better understand elagin architecture’s origins and its capabilities, it is useful to consider its principal’s career.

eai’s principal, Sergei Matveiev, has been fortunate in his career to be involved with firms that have diverse portfolio’s and a keen attention to design.  Some examples of the typologies with which Sergei has had experience by ways of those firms and today’s elagin architecture include residential, office, performing arts facilities, historical preservation, mercantile, master planning, governmental, hazardous materials warehousing, service industry, K-12, medical and transportation.  Also, in 2004 Sergei’s career took an unexpected turn when he accepted a position with the City of Pittsburgh’s Bureau of Building Inspection.  In his 5 1/2 years with the Bureau, Sergei rose from the position of Building Plan Examining Engineer to Bureau Director and Building Code Official for the City of Pittsburgh.  The design experience complemented by public service benefits eai’s Clients by offering them a single source architecture firm meeting today’s needs where fast delivery, economy and quality results are the expectations.
