Readily achievable accessibility improvements to public buildings have become more important than ever. This renovation was not just about aesthetics, but also barrier removal. The original spaces in the work area included a women’s toilet room and an employee lounge. Limited by three narrow loadbearing masonry bays in the basement, elagin architecture was able to infill a newly configured lounge, a women’s room with a roll-in shower stall, and a new men’s room, also housing a roll-in shower stall.
